Upcycled Oats Container

This week at Frosted Designs the challenge is to "use something from around the house as an embellishment".  Well, (and this is Momma typing), Joseph heard the "use something from around the house" and has been thinking for a few days.  On Sunday, he decided he wanted to decorate the Quick Oats container that we just emptied.  So, he ripped up paper & glued it on ... using his school box ELMERS!!!  (he even did paper towels on the other side and it doesn't look so pretty, so I didn't photo that..) ...  and on the lid he rolled up the papers and added some string.  So, without further ado..... 

My new "Container that'll I have to find some use for"!!!

Noo Shoos

(Momma typing for Joseph) There is a challenge at Favorite Things blog to do a layout about your Favorite Shoes.  I just got these new shoes so they're my favorite.  They are for vacation since my Skechers are all worn out and I can't wear my new basketball shoes until after basketball season is over. 

I did the melted crayon thing again on this layout because it's fun.  I also used that spray paint stuff and the color is Coffee Shop. (Momma here...it's Glimmer Mist...lol! & he sprayed it on the little patch of burlap in the lower right corner). 

Further Momma comments:  He tried to draw a shoe (close to the top left) and after he peeled the paper off the crayon for the melting, he actually glued a couple random pieces on his layout...(good recycling!!).  Also, After he did the title, he asked if he spelled it right and so what do you say.... It's perfect like it is...but not really correct!   Oh, he also used the white crayon and colored a few accents and he found that little "going places" on my table and thought it was perfect to use for his shoe layout... he said "get it, going places...?  Shoes??"... Yea, buddy...I get it!!

Hi...my name is Joseph Parker & I'm 6 years old.  My momma scrapbooks & I wanted to start too.  So I did this layout and I used Creative Imaginations Glitter paper so I could enter the challenge this week at Frosted Designs.

Test Post & Checking Interest?

This is a test post to check colors & fonts and all that fun layout stuff on this new blog.
The plan is to have a "challenge" blog for kids...  we're still working out the details, but if you think your kids would participate, please leave a comment.

Kids...if you're reading this...Check with your parents and then let us know if you'd want to play along with the challenges by posting a comment.

Also, any thoughts or suggestions would be graciously appreciated.  (kids age limits, how many challenges and how often, what challenges would you like to see? --- )
